Faith was halfway out of bed, one arm and one leg still shackled to the metal bars. She was already looking Buffy’s way when she entered the room. They’d always been able to feel each other like that. Her brown eyes looked even bigger than usual, slightly sunken in her pale, gaunt face. Her stringy hair hung around her sharp cheekbones, inches longer than when Buffy had last seen her.

A mark of the passage of time. A reminder of how long Buffy had abandoned her here.

Faith liked how much attention he gave her. He listened to her when she talked. His eyes would watch her intently, his hair was perfect for running her fingers through it.

Faith is chosen as the first victim of the Council’s Cruciamentum. Robbed of her powers, she is nearly killed in the process of trying to save Joyce Summers from a demon she never thought would return.
Upon learning that she’s been betrayed by her Watcher, Buffy rescues Faith, and the Slayers flee Sunnydale. One hopes to abandon her Slayer identity entirely, while the other has nothing else to cling to.

What if Faith didn't come to Sunnydale until Season 4 and was Buffy's roommate at UC Sunnydale? AU where Faith never met Buffy until college. No Faith living in a motel, no going evil, no working with the Mayor, no coma. Faith knows Buffy's a Slayer but Buffy doesn't know Faith is one too. Buffy is 60% sure Faith is a demon. Faith doesn't understand how anyone can eat that much nonfat yogurt, Buffy doesn't understand how one person can be so annoying without being a demon.

She wanted to tell the Potentials to get out. She wanted to tell them that she had been there first. That she had been the one to sit on Buffy’s bed, had eaten dinner at that table with her and Dawn and the mother that these girls would never meet. But she just bit her cheek instead, so hard that she almost broke the skin. Buffy gave her a look that told her she’d noticed. But not that she understood.

Buffy complains about her new roommate Kathy and no one takes her demon accusations seriously. No one, except her new friend and transfer student from Boston, Faith.

Season 5
Episode 21: Weight of the World
Worried for Dawn's safety, Buffy had arranged for Faith to come to Sunnydale to help. Faith arrives while Buffy is in her catatonic state. With Willow's help, Faith enters Buffy's mind.

ATS Season 3
Episode 9: Lullaby
Wesley visits Faith in prison, asking for help because Angel has been kidnapped by Holtz. And Angel desperately wants to help/witness Darla give birth. Faith escapes prison.

Season 6
Episode 10: Wrecked
Before returning to prison, Faith decides to visit Buffy. Buffy is reeling from her night with Spike (in Smashed) and convinces herself it was a mistake. She ignores him and meets with Faith. Buffy forgives Faith, and it feels like a tentative friendship. Buffy asks for Faith's help finding Dawn and Willow (who is at Rack's place).

Season 6
Episode 11: Gone
Faith brings over breakfast and agrees to stay in town a few more days while Dawn heals from her injuries. Faith helps charm Doris the social worker who is visiting Buffy's house. The Trio make Buffy disappear, who then heads to Faith's hotel room.

ATS Season 5
Episode 14: Smile Time (v1)
Faith is in LA to meet one of the newly activated Slayers and has plans to catch up with Angel over beers. He never shows up, leading her to visit Wolfram and Hart to look for him and make sure everything's OK. She finds Puppet Angel hiding out in his office.

ATS Season 5
Episode 14: Smile Time (v2)
Faith is in LA to meet one of the newly activated Slayers and catches up with Angel over beers. (She approves of the budding Werewolf Nina romance.) Afterwards they go to Smile Time's studio to investigate Angel's latest case. Both Angel and Faith are puppet-ized.

Season One

Episode 11: Out of Mind, Out of SIght

Joyce sends Buffy away to stay with an oft-forgotten aunt for a few weeks. (Your choice why - maybe she is suspicious of older boy Angel, maybe it's some lingering divorce drama with Hank, whatever.) The aunt lives in south Boston and drops Buffy off at school every morning. The invisible force targeting people at the high school is none other than pre-Slayer Faith Lehane. OR (twist!) - Buffy and pre-Slayer Faith could team up to figure out who the invisible force is.

Episode 6:The Pack

Faith is an outsider and loner at Sunnydale High, but she'll take an excuse to go fuck around at the zoo for a day. And while she might not be anybody's "hero," she's not big on bullies. When she sees a notorious band of assholes drag a kid into the hyena house, she goes after them - and damned if she doesn't find herself becoming the thing she hated.

Season Two

Episode 6: Halloween

Faith's watcher (Diana) has insisted she and pre-Slayer Faith travel to Sunnydale to coordinate future training plans with Giles. Diana falls asleep while trying to research, tired after all the road trip driving. Faith knows vamps take the night off, so she leaves to get some dinner. Never one to turn down free food, she decides to do some trick-or-treating too. Half as a joke she picks up some fangs and a cape from Ethan's shop.

Season 4
Episode 1: The Freshman
Buffy is convinced her roommate is a demon. She listens to heavy metal, fills the refrigerator with beer, has unnatural strength and disappears to parts unknown every evening.

Faith Lehane was never one for academia but now she’s been sent to investigate something called a Hellmouth. She’s convinced her overly perfect California blonde roommate is a demon, or at least in league with the forces of darkness. Who eats that much nofat yogurt anyway?

Season 6

Episode 16: Hell's Bells

Previous to this episode, Faith left prison (for reasons) and is on rough speaking terms with everyone. Xander and Faith greet each other warmly (but platonically) when she shows up to the wedding, they have clearly been in touch. This surprises Buffy, as does Faith appearing with one of Anya's demon friend who she has been dating / seeing / sleeping with. (Faith is the demon's plus one, not the other way around. Anya beams as she reveals she was the matchmaker.) The old man still shows Xander the visions to ruin the wedding. Xander breaks down, worried he cannot escape becoming his father. Faith interjects, and the two of them have a heart-to-heart in private. Faith more than anyone understands Xander's fears.

Season 7

Episode 14: First Date

Faith returns to Sunnydale earlier in S7, compared to canon, and has already been around for a while. She and Buffy are on speaking terms and patrol together but are not super close. During patrol they briefly discuss Buffy's lack of love life. After hearing Faith say "I did alright in prison," Buffy feels a flash of jealousy she does not fully understand. Spurred on by that feeling, she accepts a dinner invitation from Principal Wood. Late when Buffy mentions her dinner date with Wood, Faith quickly stammers that she also has a date. Faith and her date end up at the same restaurant as Buffy and Wood. Faith is clearly distracted by watching Buffy.

Season Three
Episode 11: Gingerbread CLAIMED!
A future MOO member sees Buffy and Faith staking some vamps and starts beating the drum about "witches who kill and make their victims vanish." Luckily they are only partially identified. Faith finds the two murdered children while she is out patrolling solo, but Willow's mom sees and declares Faith a dangerous witch who helped the true murderer escape. (Sideplot: Willow has some doodle or fic about her crush on Faith which her mom finds, which increases her suspicion that Willow is also a witch.) (Kudos to ~~watcherless~~ ~~for this idea!)~~

~~Episode 18: Earshot~~ CLAIMED!
Buffy and Faith are both out patrolling when they get scratched by the demon. Faith gets the worst of it, while Buffy only has a mild case of "reading minds" which wears off by the end of the day. However, Faith gets a worse dose and hears a lot of negativity from everyone except Buffy. Buffy realizes Faith might be able to pick up on her inner thoughts about Faith's outfits. (And cleavage. And hair. And dimples... But mostly the outfits. Definitely.) Buffy recovers and quickly goes into "hero mode" - conveniently distancing herself from Faith. At Buffy's insistence, the rest of the gang work to heal Faith, who ends up in Buffy's bed soothed by Joyce. (Kudos to ~~watcherless~~ ~~for this idea!)~~

~~Season Four~~

~~Episode 5: Beer Bad~~ CLAIMED!
Buffy goes to The Bronze at Willow's insistence. Oz, Willow, and Buffy are in attendance. Buffy is there to help Willow decide if there's any "sparkage" between Oz and Veruca as she's previously suspected. Veruca's band "Shy" had to sub a backup guitarist at the last minute, and Faith is the stand-in, her first appearance in canon as the incoming Slayer. (Kudos to ~~watcherless~~ ~~for this idea!)~~

Episode 7: The Initiative
As well as the usual commandos Buffy encounters a female special forces operative whose strength and skill surpasses any of her male comrades. Agent Lehane is dark, deadly and hiding a secret that would see her on the other side of the Initiative’s containment cells. (Kudos to QuillBard for this idea!)

Season Five

Episode 3: The Replacement
A demon splits Faith into two - one charming, heroic and firmly on the side of good. The other… let’s just say she’s the opposite. She’s wicked hot though and Buffy finds herself preferring this version, even though it's wrong. (Kudos to QuillBard for this idea!)
